About the Artist

Eddie Holly was born on June 19, 1977 in San Diego, California. Right away, it was obvious that he was different than most young children. At the age of 2, his mother stumbled upon him one day, as he sat amongst a pile of building blocks. His brow furrowed into a frown, deep in concentration, Eddie carefully began to create his first work of art. A while later, his mother returned to the room to discover that her son, through the usage of wooden blocks and an extraordinary imagination, had just constructed a giant ship. To this day, she still has the picture of the 2-year-old Eddie, holding a can of apple juice in one hand, and smiling with pride at the ship that he created.
Eddie's mother and father did not quite know what to do with their gifted son. They tried sending him to a private school where obedience and structure were held in the highest regard. This kind of atmosphere seemed to disagree with him. He was always disciplined for doodling cartoon characters during class time. After Eddie's parents realized how unhappy their son was in this school, they decided to enroll him in another school, one that specialized in the arts. He spent the remainder of his years in grade school and high school at the School of Creative and Performing Arts (S.C.P.A.) in San Diego. Here, Eddie took many different visual and performing arts classes with several teachers who had mastered the arts. Everyday, he would come home and lock himself in his bedroom for hours, creating and drawing new cartoon characters. The time passed quickly for him while hunched over his sketchbook. He often times would forget that he needed to eat or sleep.
A year after graduation, Eddie realized that he needed to experience more before he could become a true artist. His call finally came from a naval officer in the U.S. military. Eddie's experience in the military showed him the vast countries of Europe and Africa. He was stationed in Italy for 2 years. There he was able to view works from European artists. He also practiced his own art through murals, tattoos for his shipmates, and mascot designs as well. Here, he was able to begin the formation of his portfolio.
After leaving the military, Eddie decided that he wanted to attend college. The military did pay for a great deal of his tuition and fees. Therefore, to him, this seemed like a golden opportunity that should not be overlooked. Right away, he enrolled himself at the Art Institute of California (A.I.C.A) in San Diego. There, he has learned how to incorporate Digital with his own hand drawn Illustrations. Eddie received his Bachelor of Art / Digital Arts Degree, specializing in Graphic Design, Illustration, Animation and Character Design.
Currently, Eddie is fine tuning his craft. As a Freelancer, he has done work for several different companies already within the Video Game, Movies, Animation, Comics and Clothing industry.
