Born in New Jersey
back in ‘69, Doug Schramm has been drawing since the age
of 5…according to his mom. His love of art has been a
growing and evolving thing since he can remember with
Olivia and Sorayama being the main influences for his
work.
With a creative mind
and desire to develop his own style, Doug became bored and
frustrated by the confines of art school. After a short
time and feeling the need to move on, he dropped out
deciding that he would go about it on his own.
Working in many
different media, Doug has settled in on Digital Imaging
using his tablet as the creative canvas. The media allows
his imagination to flow unhampered by the trappings of
traditional art and design tools.
Recent influences for
his images are his growing fascination with 50’s and 60’s
beach and mod lifestyles. Pinups, fast cars and the whole
of the time have Doug looking back on this era, and its
Pin-Up artists for inspiration. His main subjects tend to
be cars, Surf art, and women as stand alone and
occasionally combined montages.
Doug currently resides
in sunny Florida …which isn’t most of the time actually
and is hoping to get back to his home of Jersey soon
(preferably on the beach).
